Erie, PA – Erie Innovation District President & CEO, Karl Sanchack will be traveling to Atlanta, GA to present at “Smart City Expo Atlanta.” This expo is the only U.S. edition of “Fira Barcelona’s Smart City Expo” series and will take place from September 11-13 at the Georgia World Congress Centre.
The event expects to attract more than 2,500 attendees, 200 speakers and 50 exhibitors over the three-day period, including Mayors, CEOs, CIOs, and innovators from across the country. The program will feature eight program tracks, including: public safety and security, mobility and transportation, innovation and talent, health and wellness, digital transformation, climate and sustainability and civic engagement.
Featured speakers include Ambassador Andrew Young, SunTrust Banks CEO Bill Rogers, Atlanta Braves President Derek Schiller, Cox Enterprises CEO Alex Taylor as well as actor, entrepreneur and hip-hop artist T.I.

Erie, PA will be placed in the spotlight at the event as a result of the Erie Innovation District’s Secure Smart City initiative, which launched mid-2018. The initiative has introduced significant safety and security upgrades to the downtown, and extensive public Wi-Fi capabilities, particularly in Perry Square. These efforts have caught the attention of numerous smart city experts from across the globe, many of whom will be in attendance this week.
